“Transformation” deals with a personal crisis, the ensuing spiritual evolution, and the socio-cultural pressure that seeks to revert things to their original state—even if that state is toxic and destructive. Conceived and filmed a few years before thousands of women took to the streets worldwide to protest the structural violence of the patriarchy and the election of a president accused of sexual harassment, this music video sought to depict a crisis of masculinity: a search for a new form, yet one lacking the means to navigate its own emotional landscape. A man is captured and examined by an alien race; his lived experiences and unconscious mind manifest as hallucinations.
